Hwo much money should you allocate for, let's say, mediation? There is a possiblity that landlord will not want to take part in them, isn't there?

Well, cleaning thing is bullshit - you can always have an apartment cleaned by a professional and as a landlord it's never a loss for you, and since one can take as much money from deposit, as he or she pleases, then well..

Are there at least some customary ranges of repairs and maintenance duties that are considered to be a part of the Landlord obligations? I've got damp issues as well and on the top of that, a mouse appeared in the house few days ago.

I'm not sure about the law here, but generally if a company is declared bankrupt, there should be a case in court. fo that - and all the subjects owed money by the company in question should press their claim there.

I'd be interested in a contract review service too but can't see that on any of the membership options on the site.

Is there something like a standard quote for reviewing a rental agreement?

Deposit Problems / Re: £700 for professional cleaning!!!!!
« Last post by sneax on May 20, 2018, 07:31:00 PM »
Can anyone help me?

My friend and I spent ages cleaning our flat and the letting agent said it was filthy and charged us £700!!  I feel insulted and robbed, the place was spotless when we left.  What can we do?  I'm changing jobs and need the money back. I didn't budget for this  >:(

That is an obvious fraud, and i hope you'll get your money back, or the bill dubbed unjustified. Is is possible btw to quote this much for cleaning where it's clearly out of the market range?

Hi Just an update.  I was able to find a registered correspondance address for my LL in the UK and I sent him a letter to where he lives in Spain that I was going to take court action against him in the UK and that he might lose his house.  He's agreed to return me the money. I also threatened him (politely) in the letter that I would be adding damages to a small claims against him and that he might lose his house if he didn't pay me.  I'm just waiting for the money to clear now.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Come on Alex, that's pretty mean.  Not everyone lives in the South East.

Wildingbe, what happened?  Did you contact the landlord at all or was it just through the letting agent?
